TASTE OF NEWPORT

The 29th annual Taste of Newport, to benefit Child and Family, will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Hyatt Regency Newport, 1 Goat Island, Newport. The event is a sit-down buffet dinner with appetizers, entrees, desserts and specialty coffees. Guests will sample fare from dozens of local restaurants, caterers and other vendors. The evening also includes an auction. Tickets: $125. Other tickets, which include admission to a 5 p.m. cocktail reception, are available for $150 or $200. PEARLS OF WISDOM

Sophia Academy will host a two-part Pearls of Wisdom fundraiser from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Chez Pascal, 960 Hope St., Providence. During the event, hundreds of pieces of jewelry, some available at reduced prices, will be sold or auctioned off to benefit the academy’s scholarship fund. The first part of the fundraiser will feature live music, light hors d’oeuvres and complimentary sparkling wine. The second part includes music, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Offerings will include everything from vintage and costume to pearls, precious stones, silver and gold and celebrity pieces. Tickets: $60 for one gathering, $100 for both. HOLIDAY BAZAAR

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Rhode Island Chapter will hold its third annual holiday bazaar and craft fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. The event will be held at the Scottish Rites Masonic Center, 2115 Broad St., Cranston. Vendors will offer holiday gifts, jewelry, baskets, baby clothes, greeting cards, gourmet foods, artwork and more. There will also be a bake sale, refreshments and raffles. MASQUERADE BALL

Caritas Smile will present its second annual masquerade ball from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Providence Marriott Downtown, 1 Orms St., Providence. Guests are required to wear all-white attire and masquerade masks while enjoying candy and cocktails. The event will benefit women and children in the Dominican Republic. DINNER IS SERVED

Sargent Rehabilitation Center will hold its third annual fundraising gala from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 at Quidnessett Country Club, 950 North Quidnessett Road, North Kingstown. During “Dinner is Served,” guests will enjoy a four-course dinner served by local celebrities, who will be competing for attention and tips. The night also includes dancing to music by Mystique and a live auction. Tickets: $100 per person.
