SANKARA CANCER FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER
The Sankara Cancer Foundation will host its first Rhode Island fundraiser at the Park Avenue Theatre, 848 Park Ave., Cranston on Sunday, June 16 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island will host a fashion show and auction on Friday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dunes Club, 137 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. CVS CAREMARK CHARITY CLASSIC
Children’s Wishes will present the 2013 CVS Caremark Charity Classic Sunday, June 23 to Tuesday, June 25 at the Rhode Island Country Club, 150 Nayatt Road, Barrington. The event will feature co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade along with 18 elite golfers from the PGA, LPGA and Champions tours as they compete to raise funds for children suffering from life threatening illnesses. Cost: $25 one-day grounds admission; $60 season pass; a selection of wine pavilion packages is also available.
Ledgemont Country Club will host its third annual Day of Thanks golf tournament on Monday, June 24, at 131 Brown Ave., Seekonk, Mass. Proceeds from the event will benefit Wish for Our Heroes, a charity that grants a wish to any active-duty military member. A wounded veteran will take part in every foursome, and Medal of Honor recipient Michael Thornton will speak at the event.
