The Junior League of Rhode Island will host a fundraising event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the Warwick Mall Parking Lot, 400 Bald Hill Road, Warwick. Kids of all ages are invited to climb, discover and explore their favorite things on wheels, including construction vehicles, emergency vehicles from the State of Rhode Island, Warwick Police and Fire Departments along with the Monroe Dairy Truck, the W.B. Mason Truck and more. Proceeds from the Touch-A-Truck event will support The Junior League of Rhode Island Inc. Rain Date: April 26. Cost: $5 per child (parents and children 2 and under are free). Phoenix House New England will present its sixth annual fundraising event beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Phoenix House Exeter Center, 251 Main St., Exeter. Guests can participate in a 3K (1.8- mile) walk, a 5K (3.1-mile) run or a 20+ mile bicycle ride. The day’s festivities also feature a health and fitness fair, a bake sale and an old-fashioned barbecue with live music by the Recovery All Stars. Children’s activities are also planned, including: face painting, balloon animals and garden planting. Proceeds from the event will support Phoenix House New England. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Cyclists will set off at 10 a.m.; runners at 11 a.m.; walkers at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 registration fee per participant, $10 for seniors. Dancing with the Stars of Mentoring 2014 will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston. The event will feature dinner, silent auction and celebrity dance competition judged by members of the local community. NBC10 news anchor Mario Hilario and Lite Rock 105's Heather Gersten return as co-hosts. Hilario and other dancers will perform an opening dance number. Cost: $75 per person. The Learning Community will hold its annual spring fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at the Blackstone Valley Visitors Center, 175 Main St., #4, Pawtucket. Guests are invited to celebrate the school’s 10th birthday and track record of success with live music and dancing, spy-worthy games and auction items, food and other surprises. Lead sponsors of the event are HV Collins and Delta Dental of Rhode Island. Cost: $60 per person. All proceeds benefit The Learning Community, a K-8 public school serving students from Central Falls, Pawtucket and Providence. Family First Rhode Island will host a fundraising event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Greenwich Odeum, 59 Main St., East Greenwich. The event will feature the world premiere of “Raise the Curtain: Moving Through Darkness,” a documentary on postpartum depression from Providence-based filmmaker Soren Sorensen. All proceeds from the event will support the outreach and mentoring efforts of Moms for Moms. The Greene School will host its inaugural Greene Cow Classic Golf Tournament on May 3 at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 78 Richmond Townhouse Road, Richmond. The tournament is a nine-hole event with a shot-gun start. Participants will play in foursomes and complete a nine-hole course on the fairgrounds. Each hole will be uniquely designed and offer challenges golfers expect from a rigorous day of play. The day will start off with breakfast and end with a lunch and silent auction. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and tee-off is at 10 a.m. Cost: $80 per golfer; $300 for four.
