Newport Life Magazine will host its 2014 “Best Of Newport” Soiree from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday May 1 at at Rosecliff, 548 Bellevue Ave., Newport. Celebrate the winners of the “Best of Newport County,” and premiere the magazine’s May/June 2014 “Best Of” Issue. The event will include an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment by ZanRicky & Luke Renchan Entertainment, photobooth fun by Arpeggio Wedding Entertainment and silent auction. The Wilbury Theatre Group will host the second annual Beggars Banquet fundraiser at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 at Trinity Theater, Southside Cultural Center, 393 Broad St., Providence. The event will be emceed by local actor and cabaret director Tom Gleadow and Rhode Island actress and news personality Kim Kalunian. Guests will enjoy food, drink, games, raffle and silent auction and live music by David Tessier and his All-Star Band of All-Stars, Veja Doolittle and more. Easter Seals Rhode Island will host the 12th Annual Walk With Me Rhode Island event beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick. The event, a carnival-infused, family fun walk will raise awareness for Easter Seals Rhode Island services. All walkers will be partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador – a child with a disability or special need who has benefited from Easter Seals services. A post walk celebration will be held at 11a.m. Free to participate. T-shirt with a minimum $35 donation. Sail Newport will host a James Bond-themed fundraiser from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, May 10 at Hood Sailmakers: 23 Johnny Cake Hill, Middletown. Prizes will be awarded for Best James Bond, Best Bond Girl, Best Bond Movie Character, Best Group and more! The event will feature a bar with beer, wine and Mt.Gay Rum cocktails along with live music from “Decades by DeZyne.” A limited silent and live auction featuring artwork, jewelry, travel, and unique experiences will be held. There will be a shuttle bus from downtown Newport to Middletown for this event. Cost: $70 members; $85 nonmembers; $10 shuttle tickets. Group packages available. The Women’s Fund will host its eighth Annual Women’s Fund Tiara 5K, walk and fun run, at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 11 at the Oxford Creamery, 98 County Road, Mattapoisett, Mass. Registration opens at 7 a.m. with the Children’s Fun Run starting at 9 a.m. and the 5K starting at 9:30 a.m. Cost: Registration is $20 for the 5K and $5 for the kids fun run. The Audubon Society of Rhode Island will host a fundraising event beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Squantum Club, 947 Veterans Memorial Parkway, East Providence. The event will include live and silent auctions as well as cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. All of Audubon’s live raptors will be presented during the evening, as will the Providence Peregrine Webcam. Dozens of interesting and desirable items will be on display for auction bidding. Proceeds will support the Audubon Society of Rhode Island and will help to protect thousands of acres of valuable habitat for these birds and other creatures. Cost: $50 per person.
