Craftland, Homestyle, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love are kicking off a new monthly event that donates 10 percent of their sales to the Sojourner House from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. The Sojourner House is an anti-violence agency that offers emergency resources as well as educational and prevention programs. The first “Giving Back” event will take place on June 19 at Craftland at 235 Westminster St., Providence. Eno Fine Wines will also hold a wine tasting and Movies on the Block will be screening Amelie at Grant’s Block that evening. Welcome Summer benefit concert
Brass Attack will be playing on June 21 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Bonnet Shores Beach Club at 175 Bonnet Point Rd., Narragansett to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS). Rock the fort
Fort Adams is hosting “Newport Rocks The Fort” concert to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and the National Historic Landmark Fort Adams on June 29 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be seven bands playing a medley of rock, blues, and bluegrass. Chakulla and the Hunger Bus will be performing for non-perishable foods and cash donations at the entrance of the fort. There will be a food court serving Rhode Island favorites from local vendors and the opportunity for a cocktail or two. Cost: $35 per person. A red carpet affair
Onyx Reign Promotions and Productions will present a “Red Carpet Affair” on June 19 at 8 p.m. at LeCount Hall at 883 Eddy St., Providence. This evening will be filled with entertainment, networking and community involvement. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a photo-shoot and a light buffet. St. John’s Episcopal Church in Barrington is hosting Lobster Roll Fridays every week starting June 20 and ending August 31 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 191 County Rd., Barrington. Proceeds will help fund the parish’s philanthropic programs, such as “Mobile Loaves and Fishes”, TAP-IN and their Encore consignment shop.
