Ladies night

Confreda Greenhouses & Farms will host its annual “Ladies Night Out” on July 24 to benefit the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The event will run from 6:30 -9 p.m. at Confreda Greenhouses & Farms at 2150 Scituate Ave., Cranston. There will be pampering treatments, as well as samples from the Confreda Farmer’s Market and local wineries. There will also be a farm tour, raffle and other jovialities. Painting a brighter future

Homes for Our Troops is hosting a fundraiser and art show to demonstrate the power that art can have on injured veterans on August 2 from 7-10 p.m. at The Preservation Framer & Art Gallery at 16 North Washington St., North Attleboro. The featured artist is Peter Damon, who lost parts of both of his arms while serving in Iraq in 2003. The supporting artists will be Christina Beecher, Ron Rudat and Colleen Vandeveter. Admission to the event is free, but donations and proceeds of art sales will be donated to Homes for Our Troops. There will be wine, refreshments and live music by Joe Marino. Day on the green

The Scituate Lions Club is hosting a golf tournament to benefit the R.I. Children with Cancer Fund, the Ronald McDonald House, breast cancer research and other cancer-related programs on August 6 at the Kirkbrae Country Club at 197 Old River Rd., Lincoln. Admission includes lunch, dinner, prizes, complimentary beverages on the course, a driving range and more. Lunch will be served at 11:30, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. There will be a raffle, silent auction, money holes and more during and after the tournament. Proper attire required. Fun and frivolity

The Angie Dolan Memorial Fund is hosting a “Mid Summer Night of Comedy” on August 7 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) at Historic Warren Armory, Jefferson St., Warren. The headline comedian is Frank Santorelli from the “Soprano’s”. This event is BYOB and proceeds will support a wellness center at Kickemuit Middle School as well as a scholarship fund for Mt. Out of the park

The 11th annual Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held on August 10 (at various times) at Slater Park at Newport Ave., Pawtucket. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Arthritis Foundation to help find a cure for juvenile arthritis. Not interested in playing?
