The International Yacht Restoration School will host its annual holiday party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at the school located at 449 Thames St., Newport. Higher Ground International will host its third annual Cultural Extravaganza at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at the Blackstone Visitors Center, 175 Main St., Pawtucket. This year’s theme evokes the concept of “Bringing the Village To-gether.” Proceeds will help bring clean water and sanitation to 15,000 people in rural Liberia, and support HGI’s culturally relevant youth workforce development program in Rhode Island.
