Hasbro Children’s Hospital’s Play-Doh Ball, held March 9, attracted more than 800 attendees and raised more than $1 million to support several of the hospital’s critical programs in need.
During the annual fundraising gala, which takes the name of a different children’s toy each year, participants took part in a raffle and auctions and enjoyed a performance by Kenny Logins, in addition to a special presentation from Hasbro Inc.
“The theme of this year’s event is ‘shaping the future’ of pediatric medicine, education and research, and over the past 19 years Hasbro Children’s Hospital has shaped the lives of a generation of children,” said Dr. Timothy J. Babineau, president and CEO of Lifespan and president of Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “Because of the generosity of our donor community who supported this incredible event, we will continue to be a crucial resource for children and families throughout the region.”
The annual ball has raised nearly $9.5 million since its inception in 1993. •
