Práctico Innovation holding Innovation Business Idea Contest

PROVIDENCE – Práctico Innovation is holding its second Innovation Business Idea Contest on Sept. 30 at the South Side Cultural Center, 393 Broad St.
The private company, whose mission is to identify “ingenious” science and technology business ideas in the Ocean State’s Latino, black and Asian communities, said that last year, it had 25 idea submissions and five winners.
Three of last year’s winners had patented technologies that met specific consumer needs, according to information from the company.
Last year’s winners were:

  • Manny Martins Jr. and Jordan Amaral of Purifad; they demonstrated their patented remote-controlled robot to clean LEED-certified and Under Floor Air Distribution-compliant commercial buildings.
  • Charles Johnson, of Nhuad Controllers, who created and demonstrated a patented single-controller gaming device.
  • Ivonne Cam, who presented a digital- engraving software idea – Printech – to personalize all mobile and computer devices with custom designs.
