RI Bicycle Coalition doubles board

The Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition has doubled the size of its board of directors and extended the contract of Program Director Alex Krogh-Grabbe.
Krough-Grabbe raised $11,000 since starting work in June, the organization announced on Oct. 19. The coalition works to make bicycling in Rhode Island safer, more comfortable and more accessible.
New members of the board include Vice President Sarah Mitchell of Pawtucket, Eveling Vasquez of Providence, Amanda Resch of Providence and Rep. Teresa Tanzi of South Kingstown.
Returning members of the board are President Matt Moritz of Providence, Treasurer Mark Dieterich of Bristol, Secretary Margherita Pryor of Providence and Barry Schiller of North Providence.
In the four months since he began, Krogh-Grabbe has promoted bicycling in Rhode Island through growth in coalition membership and programs such as Bike to Beer, Bike the Night with Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, Get Your Bike On, the Bicyclists of Rhode Island photoblog and the monthly BikeTalk series.
Krogh-Grabbe has outlined plans to further expand the coalition’s advocacy and events programs in 2016, including working with the R.I. Department of Transportation and local governments to get more and better bike lanes.
