PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Foundation is in the process of hiring a new chief financial officer.
Michael Jenkinson, the Foundation’s former senior vice president for finance and administration and CFO, worked there through December 2013, according to his LinkedIn page, and has since joined Chaput & Feeney LLP, certified public accountants and business consultants in East Providence. Reached Thursday at his office, he declined comment.
The Foundation does not comment on personnel matters, according to Chris Barnett, senior public affairs officer. However, Barnett confirmed via email that the Foundation is “in the process of hiring a CFO.”
A job description is posted on the website.
Jenkinson served as CFO of the Foundation for more than 17 years, since December 1996, according to his LinkedIn page. In 2012, he was recognized by Providence Business News with a 2012 Chief Financial Officer Award for “superior financial acumen and leadership” in helping guide his organization to fiscal success.
