PROVIDENCE – Nearly 400 of Rhode Island’s business leaders attended Providence Business News’ seventh Business Women Awards program Thursday, May 29, in which 26 of the state’s most accomplished executives and entrepreneurs were recognized for their accomplishments.
The annual luncheon, held again at the Providence Marriott Downtown, shines a spotlight on women executives nominated by their peers and chosen by a panel at PBN as well as those entrepreneurs profiled throughout the year in the paper’s print edition.

Taking top honors in the 2014 edition of the program for Career Achievement was Joan L. Kwiatkowski, CEO of CareLink Inc. and PACE of Rhode Island, nonprofits dedicated to supporting care for the elderly both in institutional settings and at home. Recognized for being an Outstanding Mentor was Marie E. Bussiere, the department head of the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.
