R.I. firms win regional Emmys

WPRI-TV CBS 12 and (add)ventures won local Emmy Awards at the 35th annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards on Saturday Night.

BOSTON – WPRI-TV CBS 12, (add)ventures and 7DayPSA won local Emmy Awards at the 35th annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards on Saturday Night.

The WPRI-TV CBS 12 Target 12 investigative team won the Outstanding Investigative Report award for “Feel the Burn,” “Dirty Little Secret” and “DOT Dozer. The Target 12 team also won the award in 2010.

The Target 12 team included investigative reporter Tim White, videographer John J. Villella Jr., investigative producer Nicholas Domings and Assistant News Director Karen Rezendes.

The award for Outstanding Commercial went to (add)ventures and the R.I. Economic Development Corporation’s website for their “Knowledge Providence” commercial.

Scott Maiocchi directed the commercial, Stephen Rosa was the writer, and Mary Sadlier and Keely Taylor each directed.

New England Media Coalition, the R.I. International Film Festival – FLICKERS and 7DayPSA won the award for the best single spot Outstanding Public Service Announcement for “My Life, My Choice.”
