PROVIDENCE – Eight Rhode Island colleges and universities were named to Victory Media Inc.’s 2013 Military Friendly Schools list.
Bryant University, the Community College of Rhode Island, Johnson & Wales University, Providence College School of Continuing Education, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University and the University of Rhode Island joined 1,731 other schools across the nation on the 2013 list.
The list places the Ocean State institutions in the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools helping America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and helping ensure their success on campus.
Veteran-owned Victory Media’s 2013 list was compiled based on research of more than 12,000 Veterans Affairs-approved schools nationwide.
“Inclusion on the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools shows … commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” Sean Collins, director for G.I. jobs and vice president at Victory Media, said in a statement.
