R.I. should adopt slogan: Inspiring minds found here

Wouldn’t we all like to find ourselves at the top of a list that signifies rapid growth? Now in its third year, the Fastest Growing & Innovative Companies program presents the opportunity to do just that.
That the leaders in the four Fastest Growing Companies sales categories – Alex and Ani, New England Construction, First Point Power and R&D Technologies – recorded growth from 2011 to 2013 of 1,218 percent, 57 percent, 518 percent and 482 percent, respectively, is a testament to their talents and their hard work. But it is something more.
The Fastest Growing Companies should light a fire under any business in the region. Don’t believe all the nattering nabobs of negativism. There is opportunity for success here.
The second part of the program speaks to the inspirational side of business. Innovation comes in many forms, but at its heart, it is about looking at problems in a new way and then crafting solutions that change the conversation.
Whether it’s about connecting children with their maker-selves, as they do at the Center for Dynamic Learning, or devising a new approach to treating degenerative brain disease, which is what they have done at NsGene, Rhode Island and the rest of the region are filled with inspired and inspiring thinkers, and their Innovative Companies. The 10 mini-profiles of these companies and nonprofits you’ll find in this special section are a sure antidote to any lingering doubts you had about the talent that resides here.
Once again, the presenting sponsor for the Fastest Growing & Innovative Companies program is CBIZ Tofias. Partner sponsors include: Bryant University’s John H. Chafee Center for International Business, Executive Development Center and Graduate School of Business; The Business Development Company, Citizens Bank, Edwards Wildman, Gencorp and Innovex.
