RIC ranks among best investments in state

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island College is ranked one of the top schools in the state for best return on financial investment by The College Database, a website that provides college- and career-related information.
The website identifies colleges and universities that have annual tuition costs that are less than $20,000, with new graduates earning an average starting salary near or above $40,000. RIC ranks second on return on investment of all Rhode Island post-secondary schools, according to the database.
RIC has a 2013-14 tuition cost for full-time undergraduate students of $7,602 for Rhode Island residents and $18,300 for out-of-state residents. The College Database also ranked the college fourth in the country for teaching because of its wide range of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The website pulls information primarily from the National Center for Education Studies, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and Carnegie Classification, a framework used in the study of higher education. •
