RIFDA TRADE DAY

The Rhode Island Food Dealers Association will hold its 2013 Trade Day from 2:30 to 9 p.m. at the Providence Marriott, 1 Orms St., Providence. The event will begin with an industry seminar on sustainability and the Rhode Island food industry moderated by Peter Cooke of the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences.

Also on the agenda is the state’s Best Bagger Competition in which the fastest grocery bagger will be selected to represent Rhode Island at the National Grocers Association’s bagging contest in Las Vegas. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and meet members of the Rhode Island General Assembly at a cocktail reception, to be followed by the annual industry dinner and awards presentations.

Tickets: $200 each or $1,750 for groups of 10. Tickets are also available for individual events.
