RIPTA, P-Bruins, Public Kitchen host toy drive

PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Public Transit Authority is partnering Friday, Dec. 6, with the Providence Bruins, WBRU and Public Kitchen & Bar for the second annual Fill A Bus Toy Drive to benefit the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
The public is invited to help Fill A Bus from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center before the Providence Bruins game.
Each person who donates a brand new, unwrapped toy will receive prizes from the transit authority, WBRU and the Providence Bruins. The first 100 people to drop off a new toy will receive a complimentary lunch card courtesy of Public Kitchen & Bar, located inside the Providence Renaissance Hotel.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The transit authority, the state’s mobility manager, operates over 3,000 daily bus trips on over 50 bus routes throughout the state.
