PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Public Transit Authority is launching an online transit fare survey to find out how passengers feel about fare pricing and products.
The anonymous survey, available through May 1, is available on RIPTA’s website at www.ripta.com, as well as at the customer service window at Kennedy Plaza. In addition, the commuter resource team will make it available to passengers at various locations, including some Park ’n Ride commuter lots.
RIPTA staff also will survey passengers on board some buses, and at the Kennedy Plaza Intermodal Center, Newport Gateway Center and Pawtucket Visitors’ Center.
The survey can be accessed directly at http://goo.gl/forms/ObXWrwqK0D.
The survey coincides with a four-month long transit fare study that RIPTA is conducting to review all fare products along with rates that are charged.
A goal of the study is to determine if RIPTA is offering the types of fare products that best meet passengers’ needs.
RIPTA also is conducting another online survey regarding customer service satisfaction. That survey is part of nationwide polling conducted by the American Bus Benchmarking Group. That also can be found on the agency’s website.
“We know that people are busy these days, but we really hope they take the time to take both surveys,” Barbara Polichetti, RIPTA’s director of public affairs, said in a statement. “The more input we get from the public on different transit issues, the better job we can do in meeting passenger needs.”
