R.I.’s Sullivan leads<br> national tax group

PROVIDENCE – R.I. Tax Administrator David M. Sullivan is serving as the president of the Federation of Tax Administrators for the 2014 calendar year, according to an announcement by R.I. Division of Taxation.
In that position, Sullivan serves as the head of the FTA board and helps set policy for the Washington, D.C.-based organization. The FTA provides services such as information exchange, training and intergovernmental and interstate coordination for state tax authorities and administrators.
Sullivan “certainly has a wealth of tax administration experience..and a very strong appreciation of what our organization, the FTA, does for its members,” said FTA Executive Director Gale Garriott, according to the first quarter 2014 newsletter of the R.I. Division of Taxation.
Sullivan has been the state tax administrator since 2006 and oversees a staff of 200 employees.
