Raimondo, Fidelity,<br> CGF team for coaching

PROVIDENCE – The Capital Good Fund, Fidelity Investments and Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo teamed up to provided financial coaching for teachers working with Teach for America at the educational organization’s Providence offices. The training, held Sept. 12, focused on budgeting and credit.
“It’s critical for all professionals to feel prepared to make informed, responsible financial decisions,” said Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo. “We’re glad to be able to provide financial education to teachers working in some of Rhode Island’s highest-need communities who will, in turn, share this knowledge with their students.”
Teach For America recruits, trains, and supports a diverse corps of college graduates and professionals to teach in high-need public schools.
“Just as it is important to provide our customers with education and financial guidance, we find it just as important to share those tools with people in the community, where our employees live and work,” said Fidelity Investments spokesman John Muggeridge. “It is gratifying for our employee volunteers to partner with Teach for America, the Capital Good Fund and Treasurer Raimondo’s office to provide some of Rhode Island’s hard working teachers with even stronger skills to help the lives of the students in our community.”
