Raytheon, Pats kick off ‘Science of Sports’

Students from the Newport and Pawtucket Boys and Girls Clubs joined the “Science of Sports” Science Fair at Gillette Stadium last week, where they teamed up with Raytheon Co. volunteers for the purpose of learning math and science through sports.

The outreach and mentoring program, which kicked off Saturday, Jan. 19 at Gillette Stadium, was hosted by Raytheon and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.

With more than 100 students across 15 Boys and Girls Clubs within Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut slated to participate, volunteers will work closely in order to help inspire, design and implement science projects that the student teams will present at the official fair opening in the spring.
