Raytheon plans layoffs for 226 in Bay State

LEXINGTON – Raytheon reported it would lay off 226 of is employees in Massachusetts last Friday. A company spokesperson said the employees are members of the IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the union, which recently reached a contract agreement with the company after a five-week strike. The workers that were to be laid off are employed throughout the state in one of Raytheon’s various facilities. They are subject to recall up to four years.
