Re/Max raises $15K for Hasbro hospital

Re/Max First Choice real estate agent Mark DeCosta recently thanked Hasbro Children’s Hospital by hosting his third annual block party fundraising event in his hometown in Coventry.
The catalyst for the event is DeCosta’s 9-year-old daughter, Rachel, who was treated by the hospital when she was an infant (and again recently).
“Rachel wanted to do something to raise money for Hasbro not only to say thank you to the doctors for helping her when she was sick, but to also help the kids who are currently patients at the hospital,” said DeCosta.
The block party raised more than $15,000 for Hasbro Children’s Hospital, which totals to $30,000 over the past three years. To accommodate the exponential growth of the event, it was held on a baseball field located behind Club Jogues in Coventry. There were more than 500 community members in attendance, as well as 50 volunteers.
Corporate sponsors included Acura of Warwick, Attorney Title Services of Rhode Island, Germani Title and Closing, Langford Bros. Excavation, Primary Residential Mortgage, Re/Max First Choice, Top Notch Home Inspections and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Warwick. •
