PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island will receive $3 million in federal funds for lead-hazard reduction programs, as well as $400,000 in Healthy Homes supplemental funds, U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed announced on Monday.
The programs are aimed at protecting low-income families from lead-based paint hazards in their homes.
Using the funds, Rhode Island Housing will partner with several statewide and community organizations to create 250 lead-safe and healthy housing units, according to a news release.
