The new Veterans Home, authorized by state voters who approved funds for the construction, is taking shape in Bristol. The $122 million project will include a campus of 45 acres and 260,000 square feet of new construction, according to Gilbane Building Co., the state’s construction manager. The new Veterans Home will include six single-story buildings grouped around a two-story commons building that will have administrative and operations space, and amenities for residents. Peregrine Group, of East Providence, is leading the design and construction. Brewster Thornton Group Architects, of Providence, is the architect and engineer. It is scheduled to be completed in late 2017.
