Rick Norberg

Age: 37

Why did you select your profession?
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve always wanted to own my own business. When I was in my early 30s and living on a jet, traveling all over the East Coast, I decided it was time. So I left the company I was working for and made it happen.

Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?
Running a much larger organization and spending more time giving back to others.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?
To focus on my strengths and let others more capable take care of my weaknesses.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
Perhaps my only advice would have been to start earlier.

What is your favorite escape or hobby?
In the summer, I love to camp, fish and hike. I’m also a fan of aviation and the weekend getaway.

What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?
Nothing really comes to mind. All the decisions I’ve made have brought me to where I am today and there’s no place I’d rather be. •
