Roberts named director of Blood and Marrow Transplant at Roger Williams

PROVIDENCE – Dr. Todd F. Roberts has been named the new director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit and Section of Hematologic Malignancies at Roger Williams Medical Center, hospital officials announced May 28.
Roberts most recently led the Hematologic Malignancy group at Southcoast Center for Cancer Care and was an associate attending physician in the Blood & Marrow Transplant program at Tufts Medical Center. He has special expertise and interest in stem cell transplantation and treatment of leukemia, myelodysplasia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
“Dr. Roberts’ training and experience make him an ideal physician leader for our Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit,” said Dr. Steven M. Sepe, chairman of the Department of Medicine. “Our transplantation service is one of the reasons Roger Williams is a recognized regional leader in cancer care.”
Since 1994, Roger Williams Medical Center has been home to Rhode Island’s only Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program.
