One Empire Plaza, nearly empty after the closure of 38 Studios, has a new primary tenant. The building is freshly outfitted for Roger Williams University and its consolidated downtown campus. The private university occupies four floors of the brick building, with the remainder taken up by the U.S. General Service Administration. The university space includes new conference rooms and offices for administrative staff, and classrooms for its law school and business and education programs. Among the new features: a mock-trial courtroom, complete with jury room and judge’s chambers, a student lounge and a distance-learning classroom with four voice-activated microphones that will follow the class discussion.
