Rolling Stone: Hernandez heavy user of angel dust

NEW YORK – Rolling Stone magazine profiled former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in the issue set to hit newsstands on Friday, coming away with six key revelations about the suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd, among them:

  • Hernandez was so paranoid from persistent use of angel dust that he kept a gun with him at all times.
  • He isolated himself from family and teammates, instead consorting with gangsters.
  • Between missed practices and other incidents of acting out, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was on the verge of cutting the tight end.

The full feature, The Gangster in the Huddle, hits the street on Friday, Aug. 30.
