Roos joining Raimondo team as chief of staff

PROVIDENCE – General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo last week announced Andrew Roos will join her office as chief of staff. Additionally, Ashley Gingerella O’Shea will come on board as associate director of communications.

Roos is joining the office after a stint at Google in Washington, D.C., where he worked in the Elections and Issue Advocacy division. He has a strong background in technology, advocacy and public policy, Raimondo said in a news release. Prior to Google his work included extensive political experience, including first electing National Governors Association Chair Jack Markell in Delaware. Roos is returning to Rhode Island, where he attended graduate school at Brown University.

Barrington resident O’Shea comes to the office from Citizens Bank in Providence, where she was an assistant vice president, public relations manager. She has a strong background in media relations, public affairs and community outreach, Raimondo said. O’Shea is a member of several community groups, including the United Way of Rhode Island and Youth in Action. Originally from Westerly, she is a graduate of Roger Williams University and holds an MBA from the University of Rhode Island. •
