SE Mass. companies recognized on Dotmed top 100 list

FALL RIVER, Mass. – Physicians Resource Network Inc. has been recognized in peer voting as the No. 1 company in the country among DOTmed’s 100 top equipment sellers.
DOTmed, which helps companies buy, sell and auction new and used medical products online, lists the top-rated medical equipment dealers and service companies in the country in its annual top 100 list.
PRN, a medical equipment sales and service company, ranked first in customer service in the hospital and medical equipment business based on positive experiences in transactions both domestically and internationally.
Bob Gaw, PRN’s president, said in a statement that it is “an honor to be selected as one of the top 100.”
“Our selection is based on positive feedback. … We have always believed that quality refurbished medical equipment, blended with excellent service would set us apart; it is amazing how word spreads throughout the United States and the international medical community when you do what you promise,” he said. “A number of prominent universities and hospitals have invested in our new pulsed wave velocity and pulsed wave analysis programs which allow our clients to determine arterial stiffness and provide a more comprehensive analysis of coronary artery disease. I think the U.S. market was ripe for a cost efficient device to noninvasively detect peripheral vascular disease and our product happened to be at the right place at the right time.”

Gaw said the implementation of the Affordable Care Act helped both domestic and international sales of refurbished medical equipment as well as increased sales of PRN’s Vascular Vicorder division.

The top 100 list is published annually in the March edition of company’s magazine DOTmed Business News, also available at www.dotmed.com by clicking on the March edition.
Two other southeastern Massachusetts companies that sell medical equipment made the list: Medical Equipment Dynamics in New Bedford, at No. 35, and Coast to Coast Medical in Fall River, at No. 43.

PRN also garner top honors in DOTmed’s list of the top 100 Parts Companies, with a specialty of operating room equipment.
