PROVIDENCE – Social Enterprise Greenhouse is holding its inaugural health and wellness accelerator launch on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at its hub at 10 Davol Square, unit 100.

Eight entrepreneurs will participate in a 12-week program, which was developed with Brown University. SEG has said it identified health and wellness as a cluster in which “there is great need and opportunity.” The entrepreneurs will work with coaches and advisers during the program.

Here are the eight entrepreneurs participating:

  • Be Highly Reliable, which aims to make health care delivery more successful and safer for everyone through transformative educational experiences; the entrepreneur is Laurin Mooney.
  • Crossfit Providence, one of the first Crossfit affiliates in New England. Entrepreneur Josh Bird is providing a model for preventative health care and fitness.
  • Exponential Intelligence, which employs a comprehensive approach to neural optimization. It uses direct and pulsed low level currents through a comfortable device to improve the quality of physical skills, mental abilities and emotional health.
    The entrepreneur is Lachlan Franquemont.

  • NE Distance, an athlete-in-residence fellowship program for post-collegiate track athletes, partners with urban public middle schools to create and run youth cross country and track. The entrepreneur is Katrina Spratford.
  • Portela Soni Medical is innovating a stagnant urinary catheter industry to provide an infection-reducing device and a therapeutic delivery system. The entrepreneur is Francisco Portela.
  • The Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition works to make bicycling safer, more comfortable and more accessible throughout the state of Rhode Island. This is done through advocacy, events and coordinating efforts of partner organizations. The entrepreneur is Alex Krogh-Grabbe
  • SimplaFYI expands the awareness of and access to, complementary and integrative health services to advance personal health, well-being and self-care. The entrepreneur is Kathleen Repoli.
  • Xperii is a software platform solving one of the largest problems for clinical and behavioral science – subject recruitment. Its mission is to make it easy for individuals to participate in research studies. The entrepreneurs are Evan Ehrenberg and Sol Chen.

A graduation final pitch event will be held Dec. 8, from 6-8 p.m., for the entrepreneurs.
