PROVIDENCE – A search is underway for the best aging-focused startups in the world and it’s coming to Providence on May 23.
Social Enterprise Greenhouse, in collaboration with Doctor’s Choice and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, is hosting the Aging2.0 Global Startup Search, from 6 to 8 p.m. at its hub in Davol Square.
Startup companies with a focus on the aging market will have the chance to pitch their businesses to investors and industry professionals. One winner will be chosen to represent Rhode Island at the Aging2.0 Optimize conference in San Francisco, Oct. 12-14.
To participate, startups must have less than $3 million in funding or revenue.

According to the Aging2.0 website, local pitch events are being held around the world to find the best aging-focused startups. These events, which began April 1, run until July 1.
The winning startup from each local event will be featured on the Aging2.0 website and the public can vote for their favorite company. Top startups based on general voting and feedback from judges will then make their pitch in San Francisco. One winner will be selected, and will win $2,500.
