SSHSA invites guests to enjoy bygone ocean liner era

WARWICK – In hosting its second Ocean Liner Dinner, the Steamship Historical Society of America is marking the 105th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

A dinner will be held at 6 p.m. at the Casino at Roger Williams Park, 1000 Elmwood Avenue in Providence, on Saturday, April 8. The night’s theme will be a re-creation of a multicourse meal from the famed ship’s fateful voyage and the keynote speech will be given by author Bill Miller, known as “Mr. Ocean Liner,” who is an international authority on ocean liners and cruise ships, writing nearly 100 books on the subject from early steamers and immigrant ships to liners at war.

Tickets are $150 each or $250 per couple and proceeds will benefit the organization’s continued efforts to expand programming at its Warwick facility. To reserve a spot, call (401) 463-3570 or email blucier@sshsa.org.
