The Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment will hold a briefing on its State Trade and Export Promotion grant program from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce, 749 Purchase St., New Bedford.
The STEP grant program offers financial assistance to eligible Massachusetts small businesses seeking increased export sales of their goods and services. It is intended to help offset international business development and related marketing costs for small businesses. Grants issued will be capped at $10,000 per business to reimburse for costs associated with projects, activities or services undertaken between Sept. 30, 2012, and Sept. 30, 2013.
Each grant recipient will be required to provide a match to cover 25 percent of the total approved cost for any project, activity or service. Representatives from MOITI, the Massachusetts Export Center and the Small Business Administration will be in attendance.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Harrison Tsopelas, MOITI manager of business development at (617) 830-5409 or step@moiti.org.
