Saint Elizabeth Community purchases Cathleen Naughton Associates

EAST GREENWICH – Saint Elizabeth Community, which provides a full array of care and services to seniors and adults with disabilities in several locations throughout Rhode Island, acquired Cathleen Naughton Associates, a home care provider with offices in Providence and Wakefield.

The intended acquisition was reported in July 2015. The acquisition required approval from the Rhode Island Department of Health.

“When we were searching for a home care provider to join our organization,” said Steven J. Horowitz, president and CEO of Saint Elizabeth Community, “we consistently heard that Cathleen Naughton Associates was known for delivering high quality services.”

Founded in 1978 by Cathleen Naughton, R.N., Cathleen Naughton Associates is managed by Caroline Naughton Rumowicz, Naughton’s daughter. Naughton Rumowicz earned her undergraduate degree at Bryant and her Master’s in Health Services Administration from Salve Regina University. Cathleen Naughton Associates, originally a for-profit company, will continue to do business under its own name and has been approved to operate as a not-for-profit organization.

“Saint Elizabeth Community’s mission is to provide exceptional, compassionate care in an array of settings, and having Cathleen Naughton Associates join our organization is in keeping with our mission and expands the array of settings in which we provide care,” Horowitz said.

With this acquisition, Saint Elizabeth Community is expected to serve more than 2,200 seniors each year.

Saint Elizabeth Community includes Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich; Saint Elizabeth Manor in Bristol; Saint Elizabeth Court and Saint Elizabeth Place, both in Providence; Saint Elizabeth Terrace in Warwick; Cornerstone Adult Services in Warwick, Coventry, Bristol and Little Compton; and now Cathleen Naughton Associates’ locations in Providence and Wakefield.
