Salve offers cyber-security training

NEWPORT – Decision-makers in banking, finance and across the corporate spectrum are being offered training in awareness of, and defending against, cyber-security threats at a series of workshops sponsored by Salve Regina’s Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy.
“It’s not just IT people who should be concerned about cyber security. You must train your leaders in the corporation, the bank or the university. If they’re not aware, they can be the weakest link,” said Pell Center Cyber Leadership Fellow Francesca Spidalieri.
The first topic, Cybersecurity Awareness: Don’t Be a Target, will be presented Wed., Sept. 11 at Salve Regina in Newport and will be repeated Thurs., Sept. 12, at GTECH in Providence.
Sessions on related topics are scheduled on Oct. 9 and Nov. 13. There is no charge for the workshops and participation is by invitation only. For information call the Pell Center at 401-341-2927.
