During a recent Pawtucket Red Sox game at Pawtucket’s McCoy Stadium, the Savings Bank Life Insurance Co. of Massachusetts was recognized for its contribution to a local organization and for its leadership.
The company gave a $4,000 check to the Pawtucket Boys and Girls Club during an on-field presentation. Representatives from the club, including board president Bill Catelli, were present to accept it.
Robert K. Sheridan, president of Savings Bank Life Insurance Co., said the company was excited that its donation will directly benefit the children enrolled in Boys and Girls Club programs.
“The Pawtucket Boys and Girls Club is dedicated to enhancing the lives of local youth and [Savings Bank Life Insurance] is thrilled to support this important mission,” he said.
Sheridan was honored earlier in the evening when he was named a PawSox Hometown Hero.
The award is given to those who make a difference in their local communities. Sheridan, who will retire in November, was presented a plaque as a reminder of his contributions. •
