Schottland to head Memorial

PAWTUCKET – Care New England announced Wednesday that the new president and CEO of Memorial Hospital will be Edward Schottland, the current director of Care New England’s Integration Management Office.

Effective Oct. 18, Schottland will replace Arthur DeBois, interim president and COO of Memorial Hospital. The leadership change was announced in a press release early Wednesday afternoon.

In his current Care New England role, Schottland has coordinated the integration of Memorial Hospital into the Care New England system. Before coming to Memorial, Schottland served as executive vice president and COO at Saint Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island and Tufts Medical Center.

He has also served in various roles at Lifespan, including as senior vice president and COO and senior vice president of system development and integration, according to the release.

DeBois will return to private business as chair of Vistage International Inc. and managing director of investment banking company Tameray Partners Inc., the release said.
