(Updated 10:56 a.m.) PROVIDENCE – Nortek Inc. is looking for a new chief financial officer.
Almon C. Hall announced this week that he will retire from the company and will resign from his position as senior vice president and chief financial officer at the end of the year or earlier, if a replacement is found.
Hall has been with the company for 38 years, according to a filing about the retirement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Michael Botelho, vice president, strategy and investor relations, said that the company will conduct a formal search for a successor and will consider both internal and external candidates for the position.
“Al Hall’s dedication to Nortek over his 38-year tenure has been legendary,” President and CEO Michael J. Clarke said in a press release. “He has seen the company through some of the rough patches, as well as the extraordinary growth that has propelled us to where we are today. I appreciate his counsel, wisdom and friendship during the past four years we have worked together and, on behalf of everyone at Nortek, wish him and his family the best in the future.”
Hall said he looks back with pride at what Nortek has accomplished during his tenure as CFO, including its return to the public equity markets in 2011 and improvements in capital structure and financial performance.

“Nortek is a great company with outstanding employees and a bright future. I look forward to continuing my work with the team over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition process,” Hall said.

Hall joined Nortek in 1977 as corporate controller. He was named vice president, controller and chief financial officer in 2002, and was promoted to senior vice president in 2011.
