Servpro recently donated $2,500 to the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition after a successful social media campaign that began last fall.
Servpro promised to donate $5 to the coalition for every “like” the company received on its Facebook page. The campaign generated 148 new “likes” for a total donation of $740. However, Frank Mattos, president and owner of Servpro Providence and Chris Gagnon, general manager, chose to raise the donation to $2,500 to show their support for the cause.
“While the campaign was a great success, it means more to our company to be able to give back to an association, such as the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition, who does so much for local women in need,” said Mattos in a statement.
The coalition dedicates 100 percent of donations to support Rhode Island women fighting breast cancer. Some services include prescription assistance, prostheses, support groups, transportation services and wigs for those who are unable to supply it themselves. The coalition also provides advocacy and education for those affected by breast cancer. •
