ShapeUp announces winners of 2015 Social Wellness Awards, Medtronic takes top honors

PROVIDENCE – ShapeUp, a provider of holistic well-being solutions, announced winners of its 2015 Social Wellness Awards, with Medtronic PLC taking the grand prize.

The awards recognize employers that are transforming health by making it social, ShapeUp said.

Aon Corp., Florida Hospital, TripAdvisor and Drexel University also received awards.

“We are honored to distinguish these employers for their ability to creatively and effectively make employee well-being social,” Dr. Rajiv Kumar, CEO of ShapeUp, said in a statement. “Their unwavering commitment and distinctive approaches to building a culture of collective accountability for well-being are worthy of national recognition.”

Winners of the awards will be featured in formal case studies that will be posted on ShapeUp’s blog and website.
Medtronic, according to ShapeUp, was recognized with the top Evangelist Award for offering a “comprehensive, exciting, socially-engaging wellness program that has positively affected lives, company culture and the company’s bottom line.” Medtronic has a facility in Mansfield, Mass.

Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Mo., was the Social Wellness Hall of Fame inductee for its continued success year after year with its wellness system, ShapeUp said.
