How do you encourage employee feedback?
A question portal on the Shawmut intranet encourages dialog across the entire organization.
What do you expect from employees that other companies don’t?
We encourage our employees to think like owners, really listen to the client’s goals, and take a high level of personal responsibility.
What is your biggest challenge in creating a great place to work?
Construction was hit very hard in this past recession. We need to be successful in our business, [which] has not been easy in the midst of budget cuts.
What is the most important benefit the company provides?
Every employee enjoys the benefits of our employee stock-ownership program.
