Shawmut Design and Construction recently presented Amos House, a nonprofit organization that serves food to Providence’s homeless, with a check for $10,000.
The firm raised the money during Gored for Good, an event in which roller derby players dressed as bulls skated through the streets of Providence, leading a charge in support of the services Amos House provides.
Ron Simoneau, vice president of Shawmut, led a team of 20 employees during the 2-mile race through Downcity Providence.
“We’re so happy to continue our support of Amos House,” said Simoneau. “Amos House is an amazing organization that has helped feed the people of Providence for more than 35 years. We are pleased to support this valuable organization and the local community.”
Shawmut employees also support Amos House by regularly volunteering their time at the organization’s soup kitchen.
