Small-business owners graduate from training program

PROVIDENCE – The U.S. Small Business Administration of Rhode Island this month graduated six small-business owners who successfully completed a federal training program that’s focused on businesses poised for growth.
The program, dubbed “2015 Emerging Leaders,” concluded after about 100 hours of classroom time, which included connecting the small-business owners with a network of industry experts and peers, according to an SBA press release.
The SBA gives the executives organizational framework and the “motivation required to build sustainable businesses and promote the economic development within urban communities.
The executives were required to develop a three-year strategic growth action plan.
“Rhode Island is one of 48 locations selected in 2015 to participate in Emerging Leaders,” said Mark S. Hayward, SBA Rhode Island district director, in a prepared statement. “This year marks the first year for Rhode Island to receive funding for this valuable program.”
The six executives and their companies were as follows:
Anthony Baro, E2SOL LLC

  • Drew Carey, Inspire Environmental
  • Dixie Carroll, J Marcel
  • David DeCamp, Double D Locks Inc.
  • Oscar Mejias, HITEP Inc.
  • Justin Sadler, Active Data Solutions LLC
  • “The graduates now have the tools they need to grow their businesses, add staff and increase profits,” Hayward added.
