Small employers to have ears of health care leaders

Leaders of several of the state’s largest hospital networks and health care organizations will discuss efforts to control health care costs at an upcoming forum sponsored by the Health Insurance Small Employer Taskforce.
Care New England CEO Dennis Keefe, CharterCARE Health Partners CEO Kenneth Belcher, Coastal Medical Inc. CEO Al Kurose, Lifespan CEO Timothy Babineau and South County Hospital CEO Lou Giancola are scheduled to appear at the forum, scheduled for Wednesday, April 23.
The roundtable discussion will focus on ongoing and future efforts to change how health care is delivered in order to contain rising costs that put pressure on small businesses and nonprofits, according to the Taskforce.
Health Insurance Commissioner Kathleen Hittner is also expected to attend the morning forum in Cranston on April 23.
The event follows another recent public forum sponsored by the Taskforce that featured leaders of the state’s health plan carriers.
The Health Insurance Small Employer Taskforce is coordinated by The Providence Plan, the Rate Review community partner for the Office of The Health Insurance Commissioner.
