South County Hospital recognized for outstanding care in obstetrics

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – For the second year in a row, South County Hospital has received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award for outstanding care in obstetrics.
The designation identifies the country’s best health care institutions based on patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, quality of care and what women say they want from a hospital, according to a news release from the hospital. It is the only national list that focuses on female patient satisfaction, the release said.
“South County Hospital’s recognition as a Women’s Choice Hospital for obstetrics is a reflection of the high level of patient satisfaction, quality, and personalized care we strive to provide each woman,” Dr. Lisa Rameaka, medical director of the Women’s Health Service Line at South County Hospital, said in a statement. “New moms have many choices when it comes to receiving obstetrical care, and we’re fortunate that we’re a trusted name. Together, the doctors, the staff and the hospital all work to create an exceptional experience for women.”
Scoring is based on patient recommendation scores, as provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys, as well as an analysis that identifies criteria most important to women’s patient satisfaction, the news release said.
