South County Orthopedics Center earns accreditation

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – South County Hospital’s Orthopedics Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for its hip and knee replacement program.

The certification recognizes compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety in a disease-specific care. A team from the Joint Commission recently conducted an on-site review of South County’s joint replacement program, evaluating infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management.

The Joint Commission, an independent, nonprofit organization, is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
