Spanish-speaking volunteers needed at R.I. Free Clinic

PROVIDENCE – Spanish-speaking interpreters are needed for a variety of positions at the Rhode Island Free Clinic, to help people who need medical care but who don’t speak English.
Interpreters are needed to greet patients and verify eligibility; help patients with filling out intake forms and writing medical histories; and to assist in conversations between physicians or nurses and patients, helping them explain symptoms and treatments.
Help is needed for all three clinic shifts: mornings from 8 a.m. to noon; afternoons from 1-4 p.m., and evenings from 6-9 p.m. Most volunteers come in a couple of times a month.
Requirements include proficiency in Spanish and English; some familiarity with medical terminology is helpful.
